ЗАКОНОМІРНОСТІ ЗОБРАЖЕННЯ СУЧАСНИХ УКРАЇНСЬКИХ РЕАЛІЙ У ДИСКУРСІ ФРАНЦУЗЬКИХ МЕДІА

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the regularities of the depiction of modern Ukrainian realities in the discourse of the French media. The concept of reality in the article is considered as the absence - at the existential or lexical level - of a specific phenomenon or object in another culture. In this connection, the definition of linguistic and cultural reality as a word that denotes objects, concepts, and situations that do not exist in the practical experience of people speaking another language becomes essential. This interpretation, on the one hand, is limited to the lexical approach, as it is given when analyzing non-equivalent vocabulary, and on the other hand, it defines a wide range of its application, which corresponds to the tasks of our research

The research is based on the material published by the online version of the French media "Le Monde". According to the results of the research, it was noted that the leading objects of interest of French journalists are the topic of the war in Ukraine, the course of hostilities, the foreign policy activities of the Ukrainian president, the reaction of European countries to the war, etc. It is emphasized that elements with the semantics of sensationalism or intrigue are found quite often in the analyzed materials, as they are a sufficient source of influence on the recipient, because he is naturally interested in the opportunity to participate in the knowledge of all the unknown. It becomes important to include in journalistic materials the statements of recognized authorities in certain fields, for example, prominent military leaders in articles revealing military issues, or well-known diplomats in materials devoted to current foreign policy issues.

It was noted that the French media space in the coverage of modern Ukrainian realities shows a tendency to combine the use of not only hard news, which would seem natural in this situation, but also soft news. Such an approach allows us to show the war in Ukraine in different aspects, to emphasize that Ukrainians resist not only at the front, but also in everyday life, which continues despite all threats and dangers.
