Abstract

The article examines the problem of the Russian-Ukrainian war through the prism of French official texts using the example of an interview on the TF1 and France 2 TV channels with French President Emmanuel Macron in March 2024. The lexical and stylistic features of the text that influence the formation of public opinion are highlighted, such as military and political terminology, strategic ambiguity, etc. The article conducts a lexical and stylistic analysis, identifies the most common terminology, and the inherent stylistic characteristics of the text. It is proposed to consider the lexical content and synonymous series in the interview in more detail. Conclusions are offered regarding the motivation for using these features in the context of France's support for Ukraine.
