The MULTIMODAL GLOSSARY OF WAR (based on the Lexonomy toolkit)

Abstract

The article highlights the concept, purpose, process of creation, and intermediate results of a practical scientific project on applied lexicography, “The Multimodal Glossary of War”, built on the basis of the lexicographical tool Lexonomy from ELEXIS. The study aims to create a dynamic electronic glossary of English military terms, which will be used in the future in the work of scientists, researchers, journalists, authors, as well as all those interested in the study of modern military lexicon, including units that have recently emerged. The theoretical part of the study focuses on the process of selecting lexical units and building a glossary, as well as the algorithm for its use in training AI tools, Large Language Models (LLMs).
