Creative Modifications and Metaphorical Coherence of Phraseological Units in the German Media Discourse

This paper is dedicated to the analysis of modified phraseological units in contemporary German-language media discourse. Special attention is given to the typology of structural and semantic transformations, as well as to the preservation or alteration of metaphorical coherence in the process of creative phraseological usage in the media. The article aims to identify the mechanisms through which traditional idioms are actualized in journalistic texts, to clarify their pragmatic and stylistic functions, and to determine the role of modified phraseologisms in shaping expressiveness, evaluative meaning, and the informational dynamics of media communication.
The study expands current understanding of the dynamic nature of the phraseological system of modern German and demonstrates its adaptability to the communicative demands of the digital age.
