Abstract

In this paper, corpus linguistics tools are used to analyze two royal speeches: the Christmas messages by Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III. Corpus analysis techniques help to identify the linguistic features of each speech. Comparison of the two speeches reveals similarities and differences in the speeches of the monarchs on the eve of Christmas holidays. This research shows how corpus linguistics can be used to study language and communication, namely to understand linguistic features of the Royal family members; public speaking.
